Statement

Conceived as a silent karaoke, the piece is structured around three articles from the B.O.E. (Official State Gazette) concerning how to apply for unemployment benefits, university registration, and scholarships in Spain.

With a certain irony and humor, the work reflects on the complexity of the language through which information relevant to citizens is communicated, both in their private lives and in society as a whole. If reading the B.O.E. is a domestic, codified and intimate act, rereading these three new laws in the form of a song in a karaoke setting transforms their words into texts characterized by the opposite: an open, choral reading in a public space.
